Our Lovely Akirah Renee Gillies, resident of Denver, former resident of Canon City CO., passed away on November 6, 2017, at St. Josephs Hospital in Denver at the young age of 22.

Akirah was born in Wildomar, CA., but was raised in Fremont County till 18. She attended Florence and Canon schools. She was an avid artist and writer. First published in 4th grade, into the Library of Congress' Book of Poetry, then in 9th grade in a well know magazine. In 9th she also gave a powerful speech to the U.S. Board of Education, and convinced them to start the Discovery Program Nationwide.

Akirah had an infectious personality. When she glowed, you glowed, Comfort came in a flash of her Smile. She was nurturing in nature, open-mind O\open-heart unbias soul, spending her current years being a great activist for Women, Children, Religious Rights and Civil Rights, . She took deeper compassion in exposing the Truth to help end Child Sex Slavery Worldwide. She knew many suffered and her heart emplored her To SPEAK UP SPEAK OUT, which she did often. We are so very proud of the extremely exceptional and inspiring young woman Akirah always was, and always will be. From birth till wings her Legacy and Steadfast Love for others will live on, in those very lives, many lives Akirah has touched personally in someway.

For You All: A message from Akirah

I know you can't see me but I am still here. Just look next to you, see the empty chair? To the naked eye it seems empty but it is plenty full, for I am sitting right next to you. Feel that? That's my hand holding yours, the warmth and love it still grows. I haven't left you, I am still here. Though you may not see me, I am still near. I'll be right next to you, with you, holding your hand, anytime you need a friend. Just sit down and call my name, I'll be there to hold your hand. I love you My Sweet Dear Friend.....
