Words are hard to come by remembering the memories of the Gowdy family-------warmth, love, support are but a few that come to mind in taking care of Bon. Ben was a true father and father figure that always had a smile and a good word. We rejoice knowing that Ben is with our Lord. May our Lord, in His overflowing grace and abundant love, give peace and comfort to the family of Ben in this time of their loss.

My heart-felt sympathies to all of Ben's family. He was an outstanding soldier in VietNam and I had the pleasure of being his platoon leader. Many were the times we flew together and we grew really close as crew members and brothers-in-arms. I remember so many good times flying together, going to Saigon for some great local food, the great pineapple raid, and many more experiences. He was a good man, a fine soldier and a special friend. I know he is looking down on us and one day his whole family and all the Razorbacks will see him again. Peace my brother.

To the family of Ben, while you don't know me, I have only fond memories of Ben. We served and flew together in Vietnam. While I haven't kept in constant contact with Ben over these pass years, I indeed still feel a loss and somewhat of a void because we were still brothers. I certainly will be praying for your comfort and strength in the Lord during this loss which you must now endure!

We are so sorry for the passing of Ben. He was our daughter's father-in-law and she and Jason and the kids loved him very much. He will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go to all the family.
