Darrell Rhineholt Smith, 72, passed away May 14, 2016 at his home in Williamsburg, CO with his family by his side. He was the husband of Sharon Smith for 54 wonderful years.
Darrell was born in Vallejo, CA on March 23, 1944 and was the son of Barbara (Walz) and Ralph R. Smith. He graduated from Dove Creek High School in 1962. He attended 5 years apprenticeship in the pipe fitters and plumbers union for 45 years and retired in 2010.
Darrell was saved in 1962 and baptized in the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Dove Creek, CO. He believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended St. Jude’s Church under Charles Geibler. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic and love for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, sons Tracy Smith, Leland (Christa) Smith and Gary Smith. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and his pets Lily and Sweetie Pie. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 children Darrell R. Smith jr. and Sherie K. Smith.
The celebration of life services will be held on Thursday May 19th, 2016 at 1:00pm at Praise Community Church in Florence, CO with interment at Union Highland Cemetery. Reception to follow at the church.
