Deana Kae Harris, 45, of Penrose passed away surrounded by her loving family November 18, 2015. She was born October 6, 1970 to Calvin and Charlotte “Ann” (Swisher) Harris in Florence, CO. Deana was an avid animal lover and worked with numerous kennels in Colorado, Kansas and Arkansas as a Greyhound trainer. There wasn’t a dog she worked with that she didn’t want to take home. She enjoyed boating, hiking, fishing, music and Facebook…oh, and did I mention she really LOVED Facebook! In truth, she loved life and being with her family and was a brave soul as she dealt with Juvenile Diabetes throughout her life. But through it all, she gave you a smile and was there for her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Misha Harris, Hollie Mandarich; grandsons, Aydin Harris, Easton Mandarich; parents, Allen and Ann Barr; sisters, Denine Perkins, Denell Mares; brother, Brandon Harris; nephews, Michael Perkins, TJ Ferguson; nieces, Ashley Mares, Kayleen Perkins, Nichole Perkins, Breana Mares, Anastasia Mares and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded by father, Calvin E. Harris and son, Nicholas Dean Ciancio. A Celebration of Life will be held 3pm, November 30, 2015 at Harwood Chapel, 516 N. 10th, Canon City, CO.
