James Patrick Fitzsimmons

James Patrick Fitzsimmons, 81, of Penrose, CO, passed away February 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 1, 1934 to Harold and Eethel (Harvey)Fitzsimmons in Caledonia , Michigan . James married  Nancy Datema, his high school sweetheart and love of his life in 1953 and to their union was born four devoted daughters. James was an accomplished horseman and knew the cattle business. James spent his working years as a ranch manager, owner/operator of livestock auctions, livestock broker as well as operating feed yards. This work took James and his family all over the country where he left his mark as a man of faith, grit and integrity. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, daughters, Audrey (Dan) Mitchell, Brenda (Billy) Warren, Colleen (Mike) Perschbacher, Dawn (Douglas) Nave; brothers, William, Jack (Margaret), Ken (Cheryl) Fitzsimmons and sister, Marjorie Baker, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 13, 2016 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 A.M both at Mountain View Church, 200 Justice Center Road, Canon City, CO.
