Janice J. Ramirez, 80, passed away April 10, 2017 at her home in Florence, CO. She was born August 16, 1936 to Dale and Nellie (Jones) Branum in Imperial, NE. Janice loved to cook and found time to make friends and family wonderful dishes and bakery items. When she wasn’t cooking or baking, you would find her making beautiful quilts for both the Canon City Pregnancy Center and Victims Advocates. She is survived by her son Dale (Cheryl) Carroll of Penrose, CO.; step-daughter, Carol (John) Medina; grandchildren, Shawn (Brittney) Carroll, Kyle (Heather) Wilson, April (Mike) Saucedo; sister, Nancy Lange and brother, Charles (Beverly) Branum and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ramirez, parents, brother, Dick Branum and grandsons, Matt Braun and Cody Carroll. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Penrose Volunteer Fire Department, 207 Broadway, Penrose, CO 81240. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
