John Earl Byrd, 44, of Canon City, passed away unexpectedly September 16, 2016. He was born to Earl Byrd and Johnna Pruett in Pueblo, CO. John joined the Army after graduating from Canon City High School and proudly served his country in Kosovo and Iraq where he was wounded in battle. He was a funny and fun loving guy who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, playing video games and spending time listening to music and playing his guitar. He is survived by his parents, sister, Jeanelle (Michael) Goff; nephew, Joshua Goff; niece, Anna Goff; his girlfriend, Lori Beaton and his special little kitty “Buddy”, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 23, 2016 at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens, 1700 Chestnut Street, Canon City.
