Joy Lou Blatnick, 85, of Florence, Colorado, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family January 27, 2017.
Loving wife of John Blatnick. Proud mother of Timothy (Helen) Blatnick. Also survived by her grandchildren, Kristen Partridge, Jeremy Blatnick, Carl Angerman, Abigail Angerman; great-grandson, Silas Angerman; brother and best friend, Bill Beach and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 24, 1931 to Harvey and Annie (Falgien) Beach in Florence, Colorado, Joy was a lifelong resident of Fremont County. Dedicated to her faith, she was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Ladies of St. Mary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary #4061 and Southern Colorado Family Polka Club. She enjoyed gambling in Cripple Creek, yelling at the television when the Broncos were playing and fishing and camping. She was known for her sense of humor. She loved spending time with all of the children in the family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Joy was the rock of the family. She always wore a smile for everyone. The world is a better place with her love and many contributions of her life. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 P.M., at the Harwood Funeral Home, 225 E. Main Street, Florence, CO with a Rosary to follow at 5:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 2, 2017, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 622 W. Second, Florence, CO with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Canon City, CO. A luncheon will be served at St. Benedict’s Parish Hall after the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sangre De Cristo Hospice, 601 Greenwood Ave., Canon City, CO 81212.
