Louis ”Louie” Bononcini, 86, of Florence, passed away unexpectedly August 8, 2016. He was born April 18, 1930 to Phillip and Nellie (DeCino) Bononcini in Portland, Colorado. Louis met and married Wanda Willard, the love of his life in 1950 and had a beautiful daughter. He began his working career at Ideal Cement before going to work for CF&I where he worked for 32 years. Many in Florence will remember him as the head custodian at Florence High School where he worked at both the old and new high school buildings. Louie loved meeting and working with the students and staff. When he wasn’t busy working, he loved to spend time in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, daughter, Regina (Gilbert) Clausen; granddaughter, Sara Clausen; grandchildren, Kara and Emma and sister, Dolores Alfonso. He was preceded by his parents, brother, Albert and sister, Ida. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 15, 2016 at Harwood Chapel, 516 N. 10th , Canon City, CO 81212. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
