Marcella Sheets (89). On Friday April 22, 2016, the Lord wrapped his arms gently around her and took her home. From Spalding Nebraska she lived and worked in Albuquerque, NM and San Diego, CA. She retired in Canon City 30 years ago and worked as a volunteer at the Museum at the Holy Cross Abbey. Marcella was a talented artist, poet and enjoyed singing, knitting, crocheting and cake decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Amelia Vandenberg , 8 siblings, and a nephew. She is survived by her nephews Bruce Curl and family and Nelson Trudeau and family. She leaves behind cherished friends Inga and Bud Barnes, Linda and Tim Bennett and “niece” Cindi Maxwell. She is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Marcella’s name to St. Michael Parish Catholic Charities. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 7, 2016 at 8:00 am at St. Michael Parish, 11th and College in Canon City. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
