Robert Alexander Grimes, Jr., 83, passed away on October 16th at the Colorado State Veterans Home in Aurora, Colorado. Born October 17, 1932 to Robert and Josephine Waste Grimes, Sr., in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he served the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Robert was a talented and regionally known artist. His art was featured in area galleries, and he guest taught at Pueblo Community College.
Robert also worked as a government contractor at Martin Marietta Company.Robert is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Leigh Perry and Shane Therése Arther and his grandchildren - Jayne Alexandra Perry Hatch, David Chadwick Perry, Shane Kaitlyn Perry, Gregory Kyle Perry, and Jackson Garrett Arther. A graveside memorial service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 24, 2016. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
