Sherry DelVecchio Cox, 57, of Canon City, CO, passed away May 9, 2017 after a sudden illness. She was born December 17, 1959 to Hugh and Mildred (Hale) Richardson in Baltimore, MD. She lived in Japan briefly as a child before moving to Colorado. Sherry loved taking care of her home and family. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved old country music, which she would sing as she made the family’s favorite meals. When she wasn’t busy in the kitchen, she might find time to sneak off to Cripple Creek for a little relaxation. Above all she loved her grandkids and spent as much time as she could with them, playing and of course, feeding them. If you really knew Sherry, you knew that she LOVED her two little dogs almost more than life itself and she spoiled them more than anyone. Sherry leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Dan Cox; children, Jamie DelVecchio (Nate Graham), Cory DelVecchio ( Mike Starugh); sister, Debbie (Gary) Reynolds; grandchildren, Alex, Madison, Teegan, Taylor, Kennedy; and special friends, Hendreata Zampparelli and Roxanne Melcher. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 22, 2017 at Canon Community Baptist Church, 1111 Monroe Ave., Canon City, CO. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
