Vern Madison “Micky” DeWeese, 74, of Penrose, CO, passed away September 14, 2017, at Joni Fair Hospice House, Pueblo, CO. Born July 16, 1942 at home in rural Kingman county, KS to Barney B. DeWeese and Lela Nell (Holder) DeWeese. A truck driver by trade, Mickey owned and operated DeWeese Trucking. Survivors include daughter, Regina (Dave) Adelhardt, of Kingman, KS; son, Butch DeWeese of Nashville, KS; best friend Mark Mitchell of Penrose, CO. Sisters, Pat Knox of Hill City, KS; Becky Watson of Kingman, KS; Jeannie Beaver of Port Haywood, VA; brother Barney L. of Olive Branch, MS. Grandchildren, Luke Adelhardt, Lyle Adelhardt, Maggie Adelhardt and Logan Adelhardt.
Proceeded in death by his parents and sisters, Nancy Sue Brown and Lela Mae Hubble. At his request, no services will be held. Burial at Maud Cemetery, Cunningham, KS. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home. Online condolences at Harwoodfunerals.com.
