Carol Louise Augustine, 68, passed away at her home in Canon City, CO, surrounded by her loving family on October 9, 2017. She was born January 13, 1949 in Chicago Illinois and it was there that she met Al Augustine, a Chicago policeman and the love of her life, whom she married on her birthday in 1974. Carol owned her own beauty salon in Chicago and enjoyed taking care of her clients that soon became friends. After her husband’s retirement, they made their way to Canon City, CO, where she continued in hair care, working at Hair It Is. Never one to sit still, Carol kept busy lending her talents to Crafting for Christ at Shephard of the Hills Lutheran Church, volunteering as a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 13, having fun playing BINGO at the VFW or testing the waters in Cripple Creek. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Albert, daughter, Christine Vitel; son, Anthony Vitel; daughter, Marlena Vital; son, Albert (Joanne) Augustine; siblings, Maurice (Connie) Tongate, Rick Tongate and grandchildren, Emilio, Nicolas, Gabrielle, Michella and Camden.
