Cheryl Christine Ryan (Harmon) passed suddenly on August 5, 2018. The youngest of 4 children, she was born on August 22, 1956 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cheryl grew up in Florissant, Colorado spending her days riding her pony, Silver. She was also named Teller County Fair Queen before graduating from Woodland Park High School in 1974.
Cheryl spent much of her adult life serving the community by working for the City of Florence in Florence, Colorado. While there she greatly enjoyed her work as the city’s Animal Control Officer where her love for all animals played a big role.
In December of 2003, Cheryl was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and had undergone both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Cheryl went into remission in 2004 and continued to live cancer free for the remainder of her life.
She will be remembered for her love of her family and pets. She loved spoiling her many grandchildren, and not a day went by where she didn’t have a furry companion by her side.
She is survived by her daughter Carrie Sharon (Matthew), sister Kathy Lester (Jimmy), brother Andy Harmon (Terry), step-children John Winkler (Jonika), Angela Donovan (Tim), and Joseph Winkler, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, and her brother David Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cheryl Ryan Memorial Fund at Power Credit Union to help the family with final expenses. All are welcome at her Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 1st at Pioneer Park in Florence, Colorado from 1-4pm.
