Dorothy Hannah

Dorothy M. Hannah, 90, passed away February 14, 2018 in Canon City.  She was born April 29, 1927 to Joseph and Mary (Lauriski) Javernick.  A lifelong resident of Canon City, Dorothy graduated from Canon City High School.  On November 19, 1949, she married John A. Hannah.  She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed her rose and vegetable gardens, fishing and crocheting.  She met and made many close friends through selling Avon and baking and decorating birthday cakes to wedding cakes.  She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, KSKJ and St. Michaels’s Catholic Church.  Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Debbie(Steve) Harrison of Williamsburg and Sharon (Don) Berry of Canon City; grandson, Justin DiOrio; granddaughter, Jonilea (Bob) Carochi; great-granddaughters, Toni and Domi Carochi; Step-grandson Devin (Amanda) Berry; step-great-granddaughter Peyton Berry and step-great-grandson Dylan Berry; special uncle, Adolph Lauriski; sisters and brothers, Mary Ann (Ralph-deceased) Madone, Stanley (lla) Javernick, Joseph “Swede” – deceased (Flossie- deceased) Javernick, Fred-deceased (Pat-deceased) Javernick, Alice (Ed) Skerjanec, Tony Javernick, Judy (Dave) Dionese, Patti (Pat) Kelly; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Alma-deceased (Saverio “Chub” –deceased) Cortese, Virginia-deceased (Kenneth) Kester, Sylvia (Gordon-deceased) Brown, Richard Smith-deceased and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John; parents, Joseph and Mary Javernick; fathers- and mother–in-law, Marie and Tony Smith and Tony Hannah.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 21st.  Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30 a.m.  Both services will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Reverend Jesse Perez officiating.  Interment follows at Lakeside Cemetery.
