Earl "Butch" Byrd

Butch Byrd passed away suddenly on December 19, 2017.  Butch was born on August 31, 1952 in Quincy, Illinois to Earnie and Louis (Snyder) Byrd.  Butch lived a full life taking joys in the simple things.  He was always joking around and could make just about anybody laugh.  He was a huge fan of rock and roll music and played his bass guitar in the band NightShift throughout the seventies.  Butch loved to be outdoors.  Hunting and fishing in the mountains surrounding Canon City with his close family which included his father, brother, and son-in-law.  He was a die hard Broncos fan through and through, but his favorite thing in life was his family.  He was constantly surrounded by all his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and his cat “Dipshit”, whom he adored.  Butch was preceded in death by his parents, brother Johnny and his son John.  He is survived by a large loving family which includes his wife Johnna, daughter Jeanelle (Mike) Goff, their children Josh and Anna, his brother Rick (Wanda) Byrd, and his sister Inez (Bob) Miller.  Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.  Online condolences at Harwoodfunerals.com.
