Elsie June Bonner

Elsie "June" Bonner, 81, of Canon City, passed away Christmas morning after a lengthy illness.  She was born July 5, 1936 to Spencer and Elsie (Hull) Finch in Phillips County, Kansas.  She married Harrison Bonner, the love of her life, in 1957, and had two daughters.  June worked for many years as the Assistant Manager at Gibson's Discount Store.  She loved her customers and would take time to speak with them and never hesitated to help them.  She loved her job, doing puzzles, and was a die-hard broncos fan, but more than anything she loved her family. After retirement she spent most of her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The past few years June devoted her attention to caring for her husband Harrison, who passed away in 2016.  She is survived by her granddaughter, Tami Best; grandson, Harrison (Lindsey) Best; great-grandchildren, Tylor Best, Shealyn McBride, Kaylee Best; nephews, Lyle (Caren) Finch,  Paul  (Angie) Finch and sister-in-law, Peggy Finch.  She is predeceased by her husband; daughters, Peggy Douglas and Debby Best; brother, Lee Finch and nephew, Adam Finch.  At her request no public service will be held.  Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at Harwoodfunerals.com.
