Eugene "Gene" Schultz Obituary

Eugene “Gene” Richard Schultz passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018- surrounded by his loving family at the Bruce McCandless Veterans Community Living Center in Florence, Colorado- at the age of 83.

He was born on February 5, 1935 in Medina, NY; son to the late Richard Schultz and Bernice Jean Meyer; brother to the late Kenneth Robert Schultz; and father to the late Lyle Dynes. He is survived by his son Robert Allen Schultz of Buffalo, NY; three daughters, Laurie Jean LaChiusa of Buffalo,NY; Linda Marie Schultz of Washington, DC; Anne-Marie Stamper of Las Vegas, NV; former wife Diane Marie Schultz of Buffalo, NY; three nieces, a nephew and six grandchildren.

Mr. Schultz attended Cleveland Hill High School in Cheektowaga, NY. He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne division of the U.S. Army- stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.  After being honorably discharged, he went on to obtain his pilot’s license and began flying private planes as a hobby. In 1980 he moved to Arlington, TX where he founded Arlington Tile Inc., a commercial and residential business he ran successfully for many years.

Gene will be remembered by his family as a devoted father who offered unconditional love; and by the many people who were fortunate to know him as a congenial man who always had a smile on his face and a kind word to offer. He had three wonderful dogs as pets in Texas over the years, and spoiled each of them with love and devotion. The Schultz family is planning a celebration of his life and legacy to take place in Arlington, TX.  Although Gene hails from Western New York State, Texas was where this cowboy called home!
