September 7, 1930 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Hubert “Lloyd” Berry, 86, of Canon City passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 28, 2017, in Canon City.

He was born on September 7, 1930 in Brush, Colorado to Bessie Lucille (Ragsdale) and William T. Berry.  The family moved to Canon City where he met his beautiful bride to be Katy.   He graduated in 1948 from Canon City High School and went on to play football at Northern Colorado University and then transferred and graduated from Denver University.

He married the love of his life, Catherine (Katy) Berry on December 9, 1951, in Canon City and they had 4 sons.  Lloyd was the heart of Bill Berry Motor Company for over 40 years; this was more than a career it was a lifestyle. 

He was involved and held offices in many community clubs and organizations such as Lions Club, Elks Club, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Fremont Sanitation and Shadow Hills.  He was a pilot, enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.   

Lloyd is preceded in death by his beloved wife Katy and both his parents.  

He is survived by his sons, Bob (Rhonda) of Brookings, Oregon, Dave (Sharon) Berry, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ken Berry of Canon City, Don (Sharon) Berry of Canon City.  One brother, Bill (Marianne) Berry of Sun City West, Arizona. 

Lloyd lived for his grandchildren, Carissa (Harold) Dickerson, Ryan Berry, Nick (Becky) Berry, Breanna Berry, Alex (Melissa) Berry, Devin (Amanda) Berry and James Berry.

Lloyd is also survived by his eight great grandchildren.  Penelope, Piper and Presley Dickerson, Jade Berry, Hudson and Reece Berry, Peyton and Dylan Berry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his family, he is survived by countless friends including special friend Sandy Booth.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 2:00 PM at the Abbey Community Center with Pastor Wayne Dickenson officiating.  Private inurnment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
