Stacey Leigh Hicks, 44, longtime partner of Perry Suba, passed away on May 24, 2017 at St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, Colorado. Stacey was the daughter of Larry and Marilyn Hicks of Canon City.

Stacey moved to Boulder, Colorado with her family in 1978. After graduating from Fairview High School, she followed her passion for helping others by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. Stacey worked at Frasier Meadows Manor in Boulder and then returned to school, earning a certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Continuing her desire to support those in need, Stacey then became a hospice nurse who eased the pain and suffering for both patients and families alike. In 2012, Stacey and her family relocated to Canon City. Stacey will be missed and always remembered as someone whose compassion, love and laughter was not only present with family and friends, but readily shared with all those she met.

Stacey is survived by her partner Perry Suba of Canon City, daughter Kalei Hicks and her partner Chris Winson of Canon City; her parents Larry and Marilyn Hicks of Canon City; brother Jason Hicks and his wife Kim Bane of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She was preceded in death by sister Leslie Hicks. Stacey was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first grandchild, Raven Rosaleigh, in July.
