Tom Allison Hammel, 78, of Florence passed away October 9, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born February 18, 1940 in Simla, CO to Grant and Delma (Allison) Hammel. Tom married Monnie Douglas, the love of his life, settling in Florence where they raised their four children. Many will remember Tom as the owner of TKJ Trucking and Excavating. When he wasn’t working, he made time to take the family on long drives. Tom was a John Deere and Ford man and loved collecting and working on them. He is survived by his wife Monnie, children Kurt (Kenna) Hammel, Alyson (Pat) Earrusso, Jay (Carrie) Hammel, Joe (Tonya) Hammel; siblings Roy, John, Eddie, Keith, Doris, Linda; grandchildren Kira (Palladin), Kile (Levi), Klinton, Heather, Sheri, Jesse, Savanna (Brandon), Lainey (Jon), Tyler, Rhianon; great-grandchildren Baylee, Byron and Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Della. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30am, Monday, October 15, 2018 at Harwood Chapel with reception to follow .
