Agatha Loyola Rael

Agatha Loyola Rael, lovingly known as “Aggie,” was born on August 6, 1952, in Gardner, Colorado, to Henry and Laura Rael. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 14, 2026. Agatha’s time on this Earth will be remembered and cherished forever.
Aggie is survived by her three beloved children: Brian Atencio (Ashley Atencio), Desiree Nix (Jeremy Nix), and Adam Atencio (Destiny Dunaway); her three siblings Rita (Wade), Woody (John), Debbie (Ronnie); and her nine adored grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Laura Rael, and her brother, Ronnie Rael (Isabell)
Aggie wore many titles throughout her life—mother, sister, aunt, friend—and most proudly, grandma. She could always be found in attendance at one of her grandchildren’s events, cheering them on with love and pride. Her devotion to family was unmatched; her kindness extended far beyond her immediate circle to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Those closest to her will fondly recall her simple joys—her love for Pepsi, crocheting, Merlino’s Belvedere salad, and scary movies. For many years, Aggie was a constant and comforting presence in her relatives’ lives, creating a legacy filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Through her compassion and the bonds she built, Agatha Loyola Rael leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. 

Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00am, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Steeple Event Center, 701 Macon Ave., Canon City, CO 81212
