Barbara Lee Jones (Bobbie), age 78, having faced a difficult hard-fought journey with Parkinson's disease died peacefully on June 25, 2026 at her home in Florence, Colorado. Bobbie was born on September 16, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, to Joe and Esther Bath. She graduated from South High School. Bobbie married Mark R. Jones on May 28, 1965, they had two sons Mark Allen Jones and Troy Russell Jones (deceased). Bobbie competed in rodeos and won the title of Colorado High School Rodeo Queen attending the rodeo finals at Albert Lea, Minnesota. In their youth, Bobbie and Mark enjoyed participating in rodeos together. After rodeoing they raced Quarter horses and Thoroughbreds for several years. Bobbie had a great love for the dogs they owned throughout the years. Bobbie retired after working over 50 years as a hair stylist/beautician. Bobbie was a member of Lifeway Baptist Church, Canon City, Colorado. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and her son Troy Russell Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Mark R. Jones; son, Mark Allen Jones (Jill); grandsons Levi Drake, Ty and Kolby Jones; great granddaughter Sawyer Drake; sister, Shirley Downey; sister, Beverly Patrick (Marlin); several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family will not be holding a formal service respecting Bobbie's final wish and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Fremont Regional Hospice, 1439 Main St., Canon City, Colorado 81212, or Lifeway Southern Baptist Church, 1007 Elm Ave., Canon City, CO 81212.
