Betty Sering passed away on March 19, 2022. She was born in 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Emmit and Opaline Shircliff. She married Lawrence Edward Sering Jr. in 1950. They met at the Coca Cola bottling plant in Indianapolis; he worked farther up the line from her, and would drop Hershey's kisses on the conveyor belt for her to pick up.
After raising three boys, she traveled a lot, moving to Savannah, Georgia in 1981 and then to Florida in 1999. She made a new home in Colorado in 2013, and loved the mountains. She is survived by Michael and Tina Sering of Indiana, and Ron Sering and Christine Davis of Colorado.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and tending her grapefruit trees and immaculate yard. She was an avid follower of politics, with her TV always tuned to CNN or MSNBC. She worked the polls every year. In Florida she was a popular dance partner at every party she went to, and loved taking cruises, as well as soaking up sun on the beach.
She will be cremated and laid to rest in Savannah, Georgia with her husband and youngest son Larry.
