Betty Lois Upchurch

Betty Lois Upchurch, wife of Herman Malcolm Upchurch, mother of Keith Herman Upchurch and Greg William Upchurch, passed away on April 15, 2025.  She was born on December 25, 1929 in Benton, Illinois to William and Gertrude Coleman.  She was married on June 8, 1947 and moved to Michigan in ~1949.  She was a long time employee of Pontiac Motors.  She was well traveled and very active including water and snow skiing, zip lining when she was 80, and ballooning.  She visited many countries and went on numerous cruises.

She was saved at Flat Baptist Church in Benton, IL and attended North Benton Baptist Church in Benton, IL until moving to MI.  Founding member of Columbia Avenue Baptist Church in Pontiac, MI. Where she taught Sunday School.  She and her husband Herman were always involved and active as pillars of the church, especially the youth programs.

She is survived by her son Keith H Upchurch, her daughter in law Cheri Johnson, Grandchildren Josh, Todd and Scott, and great grandchildren Max, Savannah, Anthony and Maci.
