Carlette Brocious Obituary

Carlette Marie Brocious, loving matriarch of her family, passed away at the age of 66 in Penrose, Colorado, on March 4, 2024, after a prolonged battle with chronic illness. Born on November 18, 1957, in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, Carlette was a beacon of kindness and dedication, touching the lives of everyone she met with her warm spirit.

Carlette was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jim Brocious; her father, John "Carly"; her sister, Kim Himes; her brothers, Joe and John Erickson; and her daughter, Lindsey Erickson. She is survived by her mother Jayne, her sister Kelly and brother Steve; loving children, Victoria (Rob) Ward, Aimee Brocious, Theresa (Ed) Ward, Bryce (Stephanie) Erickson, Kristofer (Kathy) Brocious, Kathryn (Adam) Messer, and Karleigh (Russell) Purcell. Her legacy continues through her 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish their memories with her.

An alumna of Johnsonburg High School, Carlette's pursuit of knowledge and passion for caregiving led her to further her education. Her academic journey prepared her for a fulfilling career in the healthcare field.

Carlette dedicated her life to nursing, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant and eventually becoming a revered Director of Nursing and Nursing Instructor. Her colleagues and students respected her for her expertise and compassion, which she extended to every patient and learner under her care.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carlette was a woman of many interests. She was an avid genealogist, taking great pride in tracing her family history and preserving it for future generations. Her love for scrapbooking allowed her to capture the precious moments of her life and those of her loved ones in creative and lasting ways.

However, nothing compared to her love for Christmas—a time that epitomized her joy in giving and sharing with her family. The holiday season was always a special time in the Brocious household, filled with laughter, love, and the spirit of togetherness.

Those who knew Carlette best would describe her as loving, selfless, and thoughtful. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel cared for and valued, a trait that made her an unforgettable friend and confidant.

As we bid farewell to Carlette Marie Brocious, we celebrate a life that exemplified love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to others. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her influence will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Carlette's family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved husband, Jim, and other family members who predeceased her. Her spirit, however, will always remain with us, guiding and encouraging us to live with the same kindness and selflessness she demonstrated every day of her life.

Carlette's presence will be profoundly missed, but the stories of her love, her passion for her work, and her dedication to her family will be recounted for generations to come. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived and the power of a heart devoted to the service of others.
