Charles Richard Lange

Charles Richard Lange, a 34 year resident of Canon City, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on September 27, 2024. Born on August 5, 1945, to a close-knit community that would become the backdrop of his cherished memories, Charles spent most of his life in Westcliffe. Charles's life was marked by an unwavering kindness and a heart that knew no bounds.

A devoted husband, Charles married his beloved wife, Sharon Miles, on June 9, 1973. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, mutual respect, and enduring affection. His commitment to family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his love for Sharon was the guiding light that led him through each day with purpose and joy.

Charles is survived by his brother Clarence, and his family. DJ Miles, and his family, Melvin, and family, and had a kinship with Pam Miles, and her family.  

Those who knew Charles understood that his heart was as vast as the Colorado sky he grew up under. His generous spirit touched the lives of many, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness was a beacon that lit the way for others to follow, and his legacy of love will continue to inspire those he left behind.

A man of simple pleasures, Charles found contentment in the rhythm of nature. His days were often spent tending to his well-manicured yard, a testament to his dedication and hard work. The birds and squirrels that visited his garden were greeted daily with a feast, and in return, they filled his ears with their cheerful melodies. Charles's love for baseball was more than just a pastime; it was a passion that could be seen in his eyes as he watched the games at the park, living and breathing every play.

Charles's life was a reflection of the words that best described him: loving, kind, and generous. His actions spoke volumes, and his gentle demeanor was a source of solace to those around him. The memories he created will be treasured as precious keepsakes, locked safely in the hearts of those who loved him.

As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, we bid farewell to Charles Richard Lange, a man whose essence was as pure as the mountain air he so dearly loved. His spirit will continue to soar high above the Rockies, watching over us with the same love and kindness that he embodied in life. Charles will be deeply missed, but the light he left behind will forever guide our way.
