Chevy Thomas Wenzl

Chevy Thomas Wenzl, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 29, 2024, in Canon City, Colorado. Born on January 23, 2006, in Pueblo, Colorado, Chevy’s energy and enthusiasm were infectious. Chevy and his older brother Jonathan came into the Wenzl home in 2007, and Tom and Carol Wenzl gave them their forever home on March 12, 2009 when they were chosen to be part of their family through adoption. They grew up in a bustling household with their siblings Emily, Erica, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Audrey. Chevy had a drive to make his mark in the world. He made extra money by shoveling driveways and washing windows for people in the community. Motorcycles were Chevy’s latest passion, and he loved nothing more than the sense of freedom and adventure they provided. Chevy was also contemplating the future and the possibility of a career as a barber. Chevy felt this was a great way to make friends, and a skill he could take anywhere his passion led him. His parents, Tom and Carol, along with his siblings, will forever cherish the memories they created with Chevy. His laughter, his boundless energy, and his unwavering determination will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Chevy’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, including his biological siblings Kryssa, Akacia Holand (deceased), Dakota, Madison, and Austin. Chevy was loved by a great many people in the community, and his spirit and passion left an indelible mark on his world throughout his 18 short years. Chevy left us too soon, but his light will continue to resonate with everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. The Wenzl family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Chevy’s legacy is a reminder to all of us to embrace every moment, to live with purpose, to love Jesus, and to cherish the bonds of family and friendship. The Celebration of Life for Chevy Thomas Wenzl is planned for August 10, 2024 at Bridge to Life Church, 222 N. Orchard, Canon City. The service will begin at 10:30 with lunch to follow. Public viewing at 9:30 for those in the community wishing to say goodbye. A memorial fund has been set up at US Bank, to help with expenses. 801 Macon, Canon City.
