Cynthia Riede Obituary

Cynthia Ann (Farley) Riede was born on November 13, 1957 in Canon City, Colorado to William and Emma Lou Farley.  She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on September 10, 2024.

She graduated from Canon City High School in 1989 (yes, there is a funny story there) and had many talents in the work arena.  She worked for Estes Rockets, Western Forge, Lasting Impressions, owned and operated Fremont Auction Company, drove semi truck cross country and her final job was waitress at Village Inn.

She literally lived her life for her children. From passing her love of horses to her daughter and hauling her all over to rodeo and jackpots. To all their crazy adventures together, Vegas, gambling, driving the big rigs cross country. She was at every single football and baseball game cheering as loud and she could for her son and the entire team and always there to drive to Springs to pick him and friends up from the wherever to make sure they were home safe. She had a wonderful relationship with her son in law, she absolutely loved traveling to the competitions and cheering as loud as she could and being his stable hand was her great pleasure. But then came the grandchildren and we were thrown to the side and now they could do no wrong. Jumping in a vehicle to drive cross country to pick up a puppy or new horse for her grandson was no problem, anything for the grandkids.

She had many interests in life, her passion for horses started at a young age.  She enjoyed barrel racing and learning all she could about horses and sharing what she learned with others. Her final visions were of her calling for her heart horse Scamper and getting him out of the field and of course the funniest her yelling for Heath to go, go  go and then "awww Heath you missed a balloon"  So in memory of that love and passion, the family ask  if you can make a donation to the Colorado Horse Rescue Network (CHRN) in Cindy Riede name. She admired and was a big supporter and I know it will put a smile on her face knowing she helped some horses in some small way.

She is survived by her daughter Tonia (Heath) Marshall, her son George F. Riede.  Grandchildren Tagen & Alexis Riede, and Dean Marshall. Sisters Cathy. Boldt, Linda Heether, Rena Seifert and Debbie Rusher.  Her horses Bo Bo, Sissy, Button and Little Cowboy and her beloved dog Bailey Boop.

She is preceeded in death by her parents Bill and Emma Lou and sister Rhea McDowell.
