Cynthia "Cindy" Schauer

Cynthia “Cindy” Schauer, 56, passed away August 14, 2021 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  She was born June 15, 1965 to James and Katherine (Klein) Schauer in La Junta, Colorado.

Cindy graduated from CCHS in 1983 and went on to attend beauty school here in Canon City. Cindy owned and operated her own beauty salon “Cindy's Hair & Nail Salon'' for 13 years. She then went back to college to get her Associates degree and worked at DOC as a counselor from 2008 until the time of her passing.  When Cindy wasn’t working her life revolved around her children.  She attended every game, event and function possible.  Family meant the world to her.

She is survived by her son, James (April) Schauer; daughter, Kassidee Schauer; father, Jim Schauer; siblings Lisa (Jake) Hogan, Jimmy (Kami) Schauer, Mike (Leah) Schauer and numerous nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine who passed away this year as well.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the DOC Training Academy on The Abbey Grounds, 2975 Fremont Dr, Canon City, CO.
