Dale Allen “Merv” Griffin, age 67, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at home. Formerly a resident of Chino, California, he was currently residing in Penrose, Colorado, with his wife, Janice Milligan.
He was born Aug 16, 1956, in Ft Morgan, Colorado, to Emerson & Georgia (Decker) Griffin, who predeceased him. After graduating in 1975 from Florence High School, Florence, CO, he eventually ended up in California, where he spent 45 years working. He eventually owned & operated “the Engine Shop” in Chino. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 427, where he was President of the Temple Board and received the highest award in Masonry, the Hiram Award in 1994. He was also a Shriner. His hobbies were motorcycle riding & shooting clay pigeons. He has many friends who will keep his memory alive. He enjoyed his tractor & loved his rescue dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Michael (Angel Rosilez); grandson Tristan of Beaumont, CA; sisters Diane (Albert) Wurst of Yuma, AZ; Donna Cullen of Hollywood, FL; & Connie Ziolkowski of Pueblo, CO; & his stepfather, Robert Young, also of Pueblo, CO, as well as many nieces & nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother, Duane, & sister, Dorleen Vaughn.
He had requested no funeral but at a date to be determined, there will be a celebration of life for him.
