David James Mcmichael, 74, took the “Stairway to Heaven” with his dedicated wife of 45 years and 40 year old son, Ryan by his side.
At the age of five, Canon City became his home. Washington Elementary, Cañon City High School and Pueblo Community College, shaped his character and prepared him for a life of hard work and dedication. Starting with Kimmick Oil and Mac’sAuto Parts. He was a foundational member of the Walmart Corporation in Cañon City, and throughout the Denver area for 25 years.
His daughters, Lisa Kendall of Longmont, Colorado and Julie Nixon, of Portland, Maine, held their mother in prayer as she said, sweet dreams to her passionate reader and animal lover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Lloyd (Mike) McMichael.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations for children’s literacy programs, and animal shelters. A heartfelt thank you to the Sangre de Cristo Community Care for the compassion and love they provided.
