My handsome, Dennis Wayne Davies,67, of Canon City, entered the gates of heaven on June 14, 2023, after a hard battle with cancer with his loving family at his side.
Dennis was born on January 31,1956 in Canon City to Margaret and Richard Davies. He graduated a CCHS tiger in 1974 and pursed a degree and career in mechanics thru USC. He later began a career with the Colorado Department of Corrections and retired with 19 years in 2017.
Dennis enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved taking trips like cruises and doing family outings. He had a large passion for fishing. He was amazing at fly fishing and making sandwiches off the back of the truck. The sandwich wasn’t right if you didn’t have old farmer’s ham. He was an active member of the Elks lodge. He loved his Westerns, was an amazing cook and was an expert at gardening, especially strawbale gardening. Dennis was one heck of a storyteller and had a great big belly laugh that made you laugh with him. Dennis touched so many lives and was always willing to teach anyone his amazing skills. He was especially proud of his grandson Christian.
Dennis was also a strong member of his fellowship, The Cowboy Church. He made many friends and enjoyed bible study.
Dennis is proceeded in death by his parents and a sister Sherry Mosher.
He is survived by the love of his life Sharon Henry, daughter Rose (Rudy) O’Brien, grandson Christian (Kassidy) Henry, brother Warner (Cindy) Davies, sister Karen Copeland, best friend Steve Becker, his 4-legged friends Cole and little cat, and many cousins and other family members.
Dennis made such a huge impact on so many lives. He will forever be missed. Until we can be together again, save some fish in heaven for us.
A Celebration of life will by held at the Miner Pavilion at Pathfinder Park on Sunday July 9th at 2pm.
