Dennis E. Jordan, known affectionately by his friends and family as "Butch," passed away suddenly on December 16, 2025, in Cotopaxi, Colorado. Born on May 13, 1963, in Woodstock, Illinois, Butch lived a life marked by enthusiasm, craftsmanship, and a love for the simple pleasures in life.
The son of the late Terry Jordan and Virginia Berggren, Butch's early years in Woodstock shaped the man he would become – friendly, adventurous, and incredibly interesting. His sister, Kim Sturtevant, along with her husband Richard Sturtevant, and his cherished niece, Rikki Wright, her husband Kyle Wright, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins survive him. His family remembers him as a beacon of light and laughter, someone who would not hold back and tell you how he felt.
Butch was proud of the friendships he had in his lifetime and the Dream Home he had built in CO. His professional life was as varied as it was interesting. He honed his skills as a machinist at JET Concrete, displayed his organizational talents as a merchandiser for Kellogg's, and enjoyed the outdoors through lawn maintenance. His work ethic and ability to connect with coworkers were admired by all who knew him.
Music was one of Butch's greatest passion. He played the bass guitar with a zeal that was contagious, and the band he formed with his friends provided joy not just to him, but to all who heard them play. His interests did not stop there; Butch was an avid fisherman, finding peace and excitement in equal measure by the water's edge. The thrill of ATV and snowmobile riding brought out his adventurous spirit, while watching football was a cherished pastime that brought him joy and relaxation.
Butch had a remarkable talent for building and repairing almost anything, a skill that frequently turned him into the go-to person in his community and family.
Those who knew Butch would describe him as sarcastic and funny. His warm smile and engaging conversation drew people to him. Butch was an interesting man not just because of his varied interests and skills, but because of his ability to be himself.
Dennis "Butch" Jordan lived a life that touched many, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy is one of joy, friendship, and the pursuit of passions, and it will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those he left behind. As we say farewell to Butch, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. He will be Greatly Missed, RIP. We all love you.
