Diana Mae Marquez

Diana M Marquez of Florence, CO, passed away on April 21, 2021 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 80.
Diana was born on August 31, 1940 to Ken and Eva Medeiros in Oakland, CA. She later married John Marquez, the love of her life, and had five children.  She spent her childhood living in California and moved to Colorado in 1965 to be near her father and raise her family.
She loved playing bingo and being surrounded by her friends and family.  She was such a happy, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. 
Diana was predeceased by her parents, husband John, sister Dolores, and brother Larry. She is survived by daughters, Dannette Pontius and Dorene Pratt; sons, Ken (Dolores) Marquez, John (Nikki) Marquez, and Mark (Ericka) Marquez; grandchildren, Darla (Constance), Shannon (Rena), Mike, Alley (Karry), Kendra (Heath), Garrett, Tyler, Austin, Sydney, Eric (Tina), Jonathan, Bryce, and Mckenzie; great grandchildren, Anthony, Addison, Kenna, Rylee, and Araya.  She is also survived by a sister in-law, Francis (Abbey) Griego and sister, Dixie.
Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life.  They will always have such great memories of spending time at her house playing and sharing family holidays together.  She was fondly referred to as GG by her great grandchildren. She will be forever missed and loved.
Celebration of life will be held On Wednesday the 28th at 11 am at Harwood Funeral Home at 516 North 10th, Canon City, CO.  Inurnment to follow at Union Highland Cemetery. Reception afterwards at 1:30 pm at her home at 523 W Main, Florence, CO.
