Donald F. Nazzise, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at the age of 70, in Florence, Colorado. Born on October 16, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, Donald's life was a testament to the bonds of family, the dignity of hard work, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.
In 1974, Donald united in marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Theodore, and together they embarked on a journey of love, laughter, and dedication that would span over five decades. Their family grew to include two wonderful children, Jeromie Nazzise and Morgan Aranda, who in turn blessed Donald with four grandchildren, Dominic, Gabriel, Kainoa, and Keala. These grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Donald's sister, Jeanette Nazzise, remained a part of his life, sharing in the joys and sorrows that came with time. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven, whose memory continued to hold a special place in Donald's heart.
A skilled painter by trade, Donald took pride in the transformation that his work could bring to a space. His hands were rarely still, as he dedicated himself to his craft with a passion that was admired by all who knew him. His involvement in trade associations reflected his commitment to his profession and his constant pursuit of excellence.
Outside of work, Donald was an avid outdoorsman. He had an enduring love for hunting waterfowl and fishing, activities that brought him closer to nature and provided a sense of tranquility. In the last years of his life, Donald developed a true passion for gardening, transforming his mornings into joyful pruning sessions. With each sunrise, he would lovingly tend to his peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and pumpkins, watching them flourish under his care. Once he had gathered his vibrant harvest, he couldn’t resist capturing the beauty of his bounty in photos, which he eagerly shared with his kids. Each picture was a little piece of his heart, a way to connect with them and share the joy of his labor in the garden.
His love for the great outdoors and gardening was only matched by his deep passion for music. Donald cherished his Friday night jam sessions, where he would immerse himself in the melodies that spoke to his soul. In those moments, he found a joyful escape, letting the music flow through him and creating memories that would linger long after the last note faded.
Donald will be remembered as a loving, kind, and friendly man, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. His laughter was infectious, his advice was sought after, and his presence was a comfort to those around him. He approached life with a gentle spirit that drew people to him, and he was always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear.
As we bid farewell to Donald F. Nazzise, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship. He made the world a better place simply by being in it, and though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort us all.

We take solace in knowing that Donald's story does not end with his passing, for he lives on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the beauty of the world he so cherished.
