It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Elaine (Blake) Delatorre, 65, who went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 14, 2022 in Pueblo Colorado, following a brief illness.
Donna was born November 07, 1957 in Syracuse, Kansas to Oliver (Bud) and Wilma Blake, who are deceased.
She was married on October 08, 1983 in Las Animas, Colorado to Albert Eugene Delatorre, who survives.
She is also survived by her son, Kelly Eugene Delatorre of Lakewood, Colorado and her daughter, Olivia Elaine Delatorre, (Leon Pennington) of Canon City, Colorado. She has one grandson, Gabriel Lincoln Eugene Pennington, who was the light of her life. One brother, Gary Blake, (wife Sandy) of Colorado Springs and one sister, Sue Snow, (husband, Mark) of Wichita, Kansas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna grew up on the Westside of Colorado Springs where she attended Coronado High School. She graduated from Otero Community College with a degree in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Canon City area for many years, most recently for Sangre de Cristo Hospice, where she retired in March of 2020.
Donna loved people and always met life’s challenges with a shrug and a “let’s wait and see” attitude. She never got in a hurry. In fact, we can see her leisurely strolling into Heaven, taking her time and enjoying the view.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 02, 2022 at 10:00 am, at Mercy Today Ministries 1336 Elm Avenue Canon City, CO 81212. Lunch will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Sangre de Cristo Community Care 601 Greenwood Ave. Canon City, CO 81212
