Edward Michael Ellison was born on a Thursday September 2nd of 1954 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in San Francisco, to Edward Robert Ellison, his father, and Irene Ann Chace, his mother. In family, he was welcomed by his sisters Irene Ann Wright and Barbara Diane Cardin.

Everyone that had the privilege of meeting Edward, knew him by his shorter, Ed. Ed was raised in Redwood City, California, where most of his young life was spent. From being inspired by his father at a young age, he found an ever-growing interest to sports, card games, racing and automobiles. Ed had a traditional education until his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned his G.E.D through the Military. Ed served in the Marine Corps for 4 years from 1972-1976, and was later discharged under Honorable Conditions Private First Class Edward Michael Ellison in 1978, and was awarded a Vietnam Service pin with one bronze star. Ed was also awarded with one Purple Heart medal. After being placed on reserve in 1976, Ed returned home to Redwood City, California and met Patricia Ann Baugh-Ferris, his late wife. They had immediately found romance and quickly eloped in 1976 in Reno, Nevada in the presence of Donald E. Chace and Lyla J. Chace. Ed and Patricia began their journey which led them all over the Western United States. From Montana, Oregon, California and Texas, then finally to Colorado in 1994. In the journey, Ed and Patricia had 4 children. Son Shawn Curtis Ellison, Mariah Lynn Moore, Christopher Michael Ellison, and Anatasia Marie Doty.
