Elmo Junior Edwards, 89, of Canon City, passed away July 25, 2021. He was born March 27, 1932 to Wayne and Juanita (Deetter) Edwards in McComb, IL.
A veteran of the Navy, Elmo served his country during the Korean War. He married Frances DeWispelaere, the love of his life and together raised two children. Elmo worked for over 33 years at the United State Air Force Academy as a ground’s keeper in addition to owning TLC Lawn Care in Black Forest, CO.
When he wasn’t working, he loved camping, fishing and traveling. He was also quite the bowler. He attended St. Michaels Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Debbie McCallister of Canon City, sister Wilma Mitchell; grandchildren Charles, Michael, Jeanne, Kevin, Brandon, Chad; nephew Larry (Jeylen) Rohr as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frances, son Lee Edwards and sister Bert.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-5pm, Sunday, August 22, 2021 in the Rotary Pavilion at Centennial Park, Canon City, CO.
