Frances Marie Elmore, age 92, died on May 11, 2018, in Longmont, Colorado.
Frances is survived by her son, Mark S. Elmore, and his wife, Brenda L. Elmore of Longmont, Colorado; and her step daughter, Patricia Ann Johnson and her husband Biggie of Oktaha, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Ryan S. Elmore and his wife Janel and their two sons, Caleb and Ethan Elmore of Frederick, Colorado; Emily A. Heinz (Elmore) and her husband Andrew J. Heinz and their two children Adalyn and Evan Heinz of Fort Collins, Colorado; Katherine M. Peters (Elmore) and her husband Seth L. Peters and their three children Levi, Abigail and Owen Peters of Windsor, Colorado; Christopher D. Olguin and his daughter, Laura Olguin of College Station, Texas and Jessica L. Olguin and her husband Jonathan Militzer and their three daughters, Leah, Baily and Piper of Toledo, Ohio. She has many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Roy S. Elmore formally of Penrose, Colorado and a son, William J. Elmore of Springfield, Colorado. Her parents, Bryan and Edna Blankinship, and her sisters, Lora Mae Jones, Margaret Humphrey, Sarah Liberato, Thelma Chamberlin, and Donna Kochevar.
Frances was born on February 20, 1926 in Cedarwood, Colorado, to parents Bryan E. and Edna Blankenship and six sisters, all who have preceded her passing. She attended Pueblo County schools through the eleventh grade and later obtained her GED in 1952. In 1955, Frances and her family moved to Canon City, Colorado. She accepted a position as a bookkeeper for Howard Chevrolet, Davidson Chevrolet and Dolven Motor Supply, where she worked for more than twenty six years.
Frances married Roy S. Elmore on March 11, 1948 and the couple had two children together, including William J. Elmore, who died in infancy. She will always be remembered by her family as a devoted wife and loving mother.
Frances was an active person who enjoyed being outdoors whether in work or in play. She enjoyed working with her hands in creating and working on family projects. She enjoyed music and recreating with friends and relatives. She had a unique sense of humor, not always present among strangers, but once she become acquainted her personality shined like the Sun.
The family has scheduled a celebration of her life Thursday May 17, 2018 at 12 noon at Lakeside cemetery where her remains will be placed next to her husband, Roy. The family would like to thank all family and friends for their kindness and well wishes.
