Gayle F. Six, 79, entered into the presence of the Lord on February 7, 2025, following a brief illness. Born on July 6, 1945, in Florence, Colorado, she was the daughter of Alonzo and Nellie (Rupp) Ham. She graduated from Florence High School in 1963 and later married Sid Six on November 2 of that same year.
Gayle spent the majority of her life in Colorado, dedicating herself primarily to her family as a devoted homemaker. In addition to this cherished role, she also worked as a salesclerk, bookkeeper, receptionist, and payroll clerk. Her faith was central to her life, and she found great joy in teaching Children’s Sunday School and actively participating in Canon Community Baptist Church. Known for her unwavering faith and compassionate spirit, Gayle was a dedicated prayer warrior who never hesitated to reach out to family and friends with kindness, love, and support.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Syndy (Mike) Tefertiller, Sandy (Vince) Guara, Susan McMahan, and Sid Jr. (Trisha Macias); ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sid Six Sr.; her parents; and five siblings: Bud Ham, Wanda Gifford, Beth Jepsen, Millie Serviss, and Danny Ham.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Hildebrand Care Center and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Canon Community Baptist Church, 1111 Monroe, Canon City, CO, with interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Florence, CO.
