Gloria J. (Cook) Case

Gloria Jean Case, 93, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022.  She was born July 29, 1929 to Arthur and Alise (Nier) Cook in Willow, Iowa.

After graduating high school, Gloria moved to Minnesota where she met Henry Case, the love of her life who she married in 1949 and together raised nine wonderful children.  After all their children were born, they decided to leave the cold weather of Minnesota and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado.  It was here that she and her husband opened Cases Radiator Services, which became a successful and well known business. 

While her husband worked the business, Gloria did what she did best which was taking care of her husband and children.  When you think of a homemaker, you think of Gloria.  She relished taking care of her family.  After her kids were older, Gloria spent some time working a few jobs, but never let these jobs take precedence of taking care of family and friends.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Fremont County where she lived until the time of her passing. 

Gloria is survived by her children, Lynn Case, Margaret (Jim) Thompson, Carolyn (Bob) Hammel, Mary (Daniel-deceased) Shackelford, Gregory Case, Kevin (Staci) Case, Timothy Case, Julie (Scott) Gerdeman; brother, Donald “Bud” Cook; grandchildren, Laura, Amy, Jodi, Jason, Crystal, Alicia, Kimberly, Matthew and Robert; daughter-in-law, Deborah Case as well as, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, Henry Case; son Joseph Case, granddaughter Jessica Ann; brothers Lynne Cook and Jack Cook.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation for all their love and care during Gloria’s time there.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Activity Department to assist in purchasing an Ice Cream Machine, as this was Gloria's and the residents favorite dessert. Service will be held Friday February 3, 2023 at 11 AM at the Pathfinder Park Event Center, 6655 CO-115, Florence, Colorado 81226
