It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Hazel Marie Adolf, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Hazel passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished, at the age of 89.
Hazel was born on August 28th, 1935 on a farm south of Burlington Colorado, and throughout her life she embodied kindness, strength, and quiet grace. She married her high school sweetheart, Ernst Adolf, and together they shared an extraordinary 72 years of marriage — a lifelong partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering faith in the Lord.
Hazel was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to her family. She found joy in helping with church activities and created a home filled with love and laughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Clara Hicks, brother Roy and son-in-law, Fil Trujillo, and is survived by her beloved husband, her children Connie Trujillo, Coleen Doughty (Jim) Randy Adolf and Cindy Connelly (Chris), 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless pride and joy.
A celebration of Hazel’s life will be held on July 26,2025 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Canon City at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
