Helen Winona Slate

On Oct 1, 2024 Helen Winona Slate went home to her lord. Helen was a true Colorado native, born in Hayden Colorado, graduated Hayden high school 1963. Helen was proceeded in death by her father Lonnie Weaver, Grand Master of Odd Fellows Society 1970 to 1971. Mother Anna Katherine Robidoux Weaver Hultz, sister Mary Weaver Rickerby and brother Charles Weaver. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Slate of 61 years. Children Carla and Troy Slate, daughter in-law Jennifer Boedeker Slate, granddaughter Shelbie Slate and her much loved great grandsons Killian and Julian. All residing in Canon City. Helen was in Rainbows as a young lady and a Beta Sigma Phi sorority member for over 50 years. She was a member of many local clubs Red Hats Society, New Neighbors and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. She loved the mountains and wildlife of Colorado and spent time there camping, snow machining and ATVing, She spent many years snow birding in AZ. Helen was a happy small business owner of Slate TV and appliance. She had unwavering love for family and friends and enjoyed working with the local community.
