John D. Alpers

John D. “JD” Alpers, 49, of Canon City passed away February 13, 2022.  He was born December 1, 1972 to John and Shirley (Wyatt) Alpers in Canon City, CO.   John grew up in the Fremont County and attended Florence schools.

John was a pipefitter/construction worker by trade and when he wasn’t working, you would find him enjoying the outdoors.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed rock hunting and hanging out with family and friends.  If you had a need, John would do whatever he could to help you. 

He is survived by Jackie Alpers Ronco (Aunt) and her five children and  families; Catherine Wyatt (Aunt) and her three children and  families; Esther Jaquez (Aunt) her two children and families ; Daniel V. Wyatt (Uncle); Bucky and Cindy Wyatt (Uncle/Aunt); David J. Wyatt (Uncle) and his five children and families.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents (both sides), parents, Walter E. Wyatt (Uncle), Charlotte Bogart (cousin) and Carrie Anne Shaw (wife).

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM,  Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Harwood Chapel, 516 N. 10th Street, Canon City, CO.  Online condolences at Harwoodfunerals.com.

Following the memorial service, a potluck dinner will be held at 1417 Sherman Ave.  Canon City, CO.
