Johnny E. Mann
Born October 30th 1951,
Deceased September 12, 2024
Johnny was a husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, a true family man and friend of
many. Johnny took great pride in being actively
involved and engaged in many activities throughout
his life. Johnny was a Boy Scout troop leader, he
spent many weekends doing camping trips with the
scouts, numerous soccer games along with being a
timer for swim team meets. As his kids became
adults he supported his grandchildren in many
different passions. He would get a phone call or his
grandkids showed up to ask for help or ideas in
working on cars, motorcycles, or building go-carts
he always had an extra weed eater motor, or
lawnmower motor to hand over to make it move or
time to take a trip out of town whether for a doctor
appointment or to get another car or parts. Johnny
worked at Portec for 31 years. He retired and had a lifelong dream of becoming a
motorcycle mechanic. He attended MMI in Phoenix Arizona and returned to Canon City to
work on bikes, 3-wheelers, quads, and any other auto project that would roll his way. He
returned to work by working at the Royal Gorge Bridge as a ride operator and moved over to
Home Depot for several more years as a supervisor. He retired in 2019 to spend more time
with his family. Johnny was a mentor to many. While being a fun, and loving man to his
family. He is survived by Nancy E. Mann wife, son Jon (Linda McSchooler) Mann, daughters
Natalie (Wayne) Hansen, and Amy Mann. His youngest sister Jody Pendleton, and his older brother Jimmie Mann. His grandchildren, Micheal (Taylor McSchooler)
Mann, Nicholas Mann, Chalin Mann, Lucas Mann, Everett McSchooler, Donovan Burford,
Dillon Burford, Megan Mann, Jake Mann, Alyssa Hansen, Jimmy Hansen, Zarien Hansen,
Thorson Mann and great-granddaughters Aaliyah Artega, and Clara Hansen. He will be
greatly missed for his helpful humor and off the wall comments.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Coeta Mann and his son Tony Mann.
Services will be on October 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm at The Steeple Events Center 701 Macon
