Joseph Trujillo, age 72,of Canon City, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April
17, 2025, at the Canon Lodge Care Center.
He was born in Florence, Colorado, on December 17th, 1952, to Joe and Dorothy
Trujillo. Joseph graduated from Florence High School and went on to work for
his fathers business, Trujillo Cement Contractors Inc of Florence Colorado, and
later moved back to Fremont County were he worked for Canon Concrete
Contractors Inc. He was a Master Cement Mason for over 55 years.
Joseph was married to Anna Trujillo until her passing on October 6th, 2021.
Joseph was an avid fisherman and especially loved visiting Cebolla Creek in
Cathedral, Colorado-a treasured family tradition spanning five generations.
Those who knew Joseph will remember his quiet strength, humility, and
unwavering work ethic. Even during recent health challenges, he never
complained. He worked hard for his family and always made sure they were
taken care of.
Joseph had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for making people laugh.
One of his favorite things to do was impersonate Wolfman Jack, and it never
failed to bring a smile to those around him. His quick wit and playful spirit were a
gift to everyone who knew him. He was also known to enjoy a cold drink or two in
his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Trujillo; His
beloved wife, Anna Trujillo; his daughter, Dionne; and his brother Larry.
He is survived by his siblings, Michael (Linda) Trujillo, Danny (Carol) Trujillo, and
Annette (Tom) Shonk. He is also survived by his children: Thomas (Sam), Joe
(Vanessa), Brian, Michael, Brandy and Meagan. Joseph was a proud grandfather
to numerous grandchildren, all whom he loved very much. He was also the
favorite Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 2nd, 2025 at St. Benedicts Church
in Florence, Colorado at 10:00 A.M., Rosary service will precede the service at 9:20 A.M.
We Love you so very much and miss you terribly already Dad. Thank You for all
you did for us throughout our lives. You were definitely one of a kind.
