June Stewart

    Lilly "June" Stewart age 94, of Canon City, Co , passed away at peacefully at  home  September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

  She was born to Jack & Nellie Hargis June 21,1931 in Aztec NM.

  June was an outstanding Mother, Wife and homemaker. Her passion was her children & her little dogs “Sarah & “Angel “.

  She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by her family and friends and her dear friend and neighbor Lester.

  June loved taking her little dogs for a walk and tending to her yard. She especially enjoyed her Tea Roses and was excited to see them bloom.

    She would feed any stray animals that ventured into her neighborhood. She was involved with the cat rescue program for many years and took in many kittens herself to bottle feed and take care of the until the were adopted. She loved all of God's creatures second to her family and friends.

  She is survived by her children,

Step son Warren Stewart, Evelyn (Will) Peirce, Charline ( Paul) Chambers, Sheri (Art) Wands, Charles (Marsha Bush) Young and Trina(Steve) Dowd , two very Special Nieces Ellen Fay and Thelma , plus  11 Grandchildren, numerous Great-grand children and Great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Lilly would have wanted donations made to the Fremont County Humane Society, or your local animal shelter.

The family would love to send our heartfelt thanks to Canon City Police, Officer Bodycomb and Officer Dickens, the Canon City fire Department, Deputy Coroner Heidi Schumacher and Lloyd from Harwood Funeral services.
