Kenneth Haynes Obituary

Kenneth Earl Haynes born June 15, 1929, Wetmore, Colorado, to Floyd Wilis Haynes and Gladys Irene (Painter) Haynes.  Graduated from Florence High School and was drafted in 1952 and sent to Korea.  He married Betty Lee Moore in October 1954 in Raton, New Mexico and were married 66 years. They had two children, Randy Haynes (Becky Chase) of Canon City, Colorado and Rhonda (Don) Litton of Lakin, Kansas; three grandchildren, Leeann (Darren) Ridley of Las Animas, Colorado, Gary (Allison) Haynes of Orchard, Colorado and Logan (Lauren) Litton of Lakin, Kansas; two great grandchildren, Denton, Roree Willbanks of Colorado.  As a young boy he had a team of horses to help his father and many neighbors with their harvest, in the Wetmore and Florence area. After he was discharged from the army, he worked in California harvesting fruit until he was called home to help his sick father. He worked for South Colo Power Company until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed riding horses with his family and friends. Kenneth loved to help kids learn to ride, he was a active 4H leader for years. He helped start the Future Rainers 4H club. He was a member of the IE union for 75 years. He was also a member of the Florence Saddle club, Rebels riding club, SCHA, Hartsel roping club, and USTRC. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lee (2021) of 66 years. His parents, siblings, Vera Schmidt, Leonard Haynes, Glenna Fabrizo, Chum Haynes, Gloria Pugliano, and nephew Gary Paul Schmidt.
